Since first sharing this set of images back in 2017, several of the images have made it quite big over on Pinterest. Big enough that I have a regular stream of enquiries from people overseas looking to have their photos taken in front of London’s most iconic landmarks whilst on their babymoon.
Over the past 7 years, since I first shared those images of A & J, I’ve done this shoot many times for different people on their babymoons. Whilst we go to similar places, each shoot ends up being incredibly unique. It all depends on the season, the time of day, and the couple.
Some of the most popular spots to hit on this maternity landmark photoshoot are:
Big Ben (or Elizabeth’s Tower)
More specifically shot opposite under the bridge to capture the pointed archway in the shot. This exact shot is requested from me for every shoot I’ve done.
Red Telephone Box
Scattered around London, these are a popular choice for couples. There’s one specifically you can get that also gifts you beautiful views of Big Ben in the background, but be warned that there is usually a queue, yes a queue! to get your photo at this booth. I always recommend setting off as early as you can to take your photos. By 10am, it’s honestly too late and you will struggle to avoid people or have to be patient and wait for an opening.
London Eye
After you’ve got your Big Ben shot under the arch and crossed the bridge to the telephone boxes, I recommend going to London Eye next. I suggest being on the opposite side of the bridge to the Eye, but it depends on what you’re walking route is and where you started. This is something I discuss with all of my clients beforehand.
The Horse Guard
Another spot that you really need to get to early in the morning to avoid crowds. A stunning building and iconic landmark for your babymoon maternity photoshoot in London.
St. James’ Park
The beautiful thing about the photographing in the park is that it really adds to the season of the shoot. For example, A & S’ maternity photoshoot amongst the cherry blossoms in London. After we hit all the landmarks that we wanted to, we usually end in the park to get a bit more of nature into our images.
Natural History Museum
Depending on how much time you’ve got, or if you want something a little different but still very much London, the Natural History Museum is a unique option for your maternity photos.
J & J are a couple that I’ve photographed regularly over the years. We did their first pregnancy shoot following the iconic landmark trail, but for the second pregnancy shoot we went to the natural history museum and got some gorgeous photos.
There are lots of little nooks around London centre that make beautiful backdrops for your babymoon photos. Some of my favourites are the beautiful doors or white streets. I always find something different even though I’ve been so many times over the years.
