Baby F | One Month | Newborn Photographer

Having a baby changes your life. Seemingly from one moment you go from, “oh hey, I have a large tummy and a vague sense that our lives will change soon” to “oh my god, there’s an actual baby in our lives now.”

I photographed A’s maternity session back in May and we tried to imagine how her life would change. Overdue at 10 months and waiting for her “perma-preg” period to be over, A was more than ready for F by June. F had her own timetable, however.

I was so excited to finally meet F one month later and to catch up with A and J. When I arrived in their home, I was greeted with smiles and an adorable little baby that couldn’t care less about why I was there. She only had eyes for her mum.

You know how everyone talks about soft baby skin and tiny feet? F had the softest and cutest tiny feet I’d seen. I love how A at one point joked that she thought her skin was silky smooth after shaving, but not after feeling F’s soft skin.

It’s already been almost two months since these photos were taken and I’m sure F has grown so much more in that time. I can’t wait to meet her again and watch as she grows and her personality develops. I’m also eager to see how A and J grow as parents. I’m sure they’ll do great as they were doing amazing already in the first month!

Without further ado, Baby F at One Month.

    Baby I

I absolutely adore in-home sessions. They are my favourite because they are more representative of real life and possess that authenticity that is hard to capture in a studio setting. Moreover, you’re likely to be more at ease in your own home and become more comfortable in front of the camera. So, I totally advocate…

A spicy at home maternity photoshoot

A pregnancy boudoir photoshoot can be a powerful way to celebrate your body and pregnancy. For this at home “spicy” maternity photoshoot, Harriet described her reasonings for wanting it being that she knew her pregnancy represented a new season of life for her and her partner, and wanting to celebrate their connection, relationship and love…

    Golden Newborn Session At Home

One of the things that I love the most about in-home newborn photoshoots is how unique they are. Every single one that I’ve done has been totally different from the last. It’s partly why I champion them so much over studio newborn shoots (though those are lovely in their own right).  In-home newborn photoshoots put your family…

Bluebell Birth Centre | Birth Photography

Birth is unpredictable. It’s impossible to say how any one birth is going to go or what any one person’s experience of birth will be like. What we can do is prepare for potential outcomes and arm ourselves with the wisdom of those who have gone before us. As a birth photographer, it’s my job…

    H & C | Newborn Twins Photoshoot

This newborn session was particularly special because H’s family was visiting from the States at the time. Rather than the typical newborn photos I take, the whole family–grandparents from both sides–gathered on a rainy day (that bit is quite typical). I feel like I’ve said this quite a bit recently, but family is super important…
