Hi, I’m Elle (L-E) – Family & Wedding Photographer
I’m also a mum to a kiddo and two husky doggos.
After having a kid it took me a while to adjust (I mean, I think I’m still adjusting tbh) and my photography career has mostly focussed on families and kids. But I’ve (kind of secretly and low-key) been shooting weddings since 2016 and have worked with some pretty cool couples and worked alongside some amazing photographers.
When I’m not taking pictures, I’m outside working on my allotment, spotting mini beasts with my kiddo, sewing cool costumes for events, and reading fantasy novels.

My Journey
2006-2009
The First Click
My first camera. My application to my school’s yearbook club (it’s a very American thing) and rising to the photography editor position. Capturing people, stories, and connections almost every day.
2014-2016
First Paid Shoot & Weddings
It took me a long time to discover that being a photographer could be an actual job. I did my first paid shoot for a bridal designer in South Korea and entered the wedding industry.
2016-2017
The Big Move to the UK
I packed up my life in the USA and moved to the UK. While I was getting settled in a new country, I trained to be a yoga teacher and eventually a pregnancy yoga teacher. I continued photographing families, particularly pregnancy and newborn sessions.
2018-2019
Pregnancy Yoga & My First Birth Photographed
I specialised in teaching pregnancy and postnatal yoga classes alongside my continued photography work during this time. One of my yoga regulars asked if I would be open to photographing her birth after loving the pregnancy photos I took for her. This began my birth photography path.
2020-2024
Becoming a Mother
I birthed my son during COVID. It was an intense period with several major life things happening at the same time. I was in survival.
I stopped teaching yoga, but continued photography with an increased focus on families, particularly pregnancy, birth, and newborn. I started to rediscover myself and really hone my work.
TODAY
Family & Wedding Photographer
Though the majority of my photography career, particularly in the UK, has been focussed on family and birth, I never stopped photographing weddings. I love documenting connection between people wherever it happens: in your garden, in the moors, at a wedding party, or a reception dinner.

CAPTURING ART THROUGH PLAY
Family Photography That Feels Natural & Joyful
My photography approach is quite playful. All of my sessions are child-led. We follow what the kids are interested in doing, ensuring that everyone is relaxed and comfortable. We’ll capture family group shots without the awkward posing and cheesing. Your family might be blood related or a chosen family. Whatever configuration of family you have, it’s a shared world that’s explored together. You learn together, you grow together, you weave yourselves into each others stories and memories.
I know it’s a bit of a cliché, but time really does fly. When you’re in the thick of it, doing the day-to-day, it doesn’t feel like it, but one day you stop and think “when did they get so BIG” “when did they stop hugging me before nursery/school drop off” and part of you yearns for that again. Photoshoots are a tool to create an experience and to create space for new memories that can last forever. So you can look back and remember the way they would run into your arms and squeeze you as hard as they could.
